I was the only woman  – there were lots of … .. …. – but I was the only female working. The original florist had fallen ill and they called me to finish the displays. “Next thing I know,  the Investiture was taking place – with the …… – Her Majestys’ eldest boy standing in front of her. I noticed he was wearing a St ………. ….. pendant around his neck depicting the Patron Saint of Travellers. There were bracelets and ……. on his wrists.

 

I heard the Monarch say ……., which he dutifully did bending on to one knee. She took the sword and touched both his shoulders. He stood up and the ceremony was over.

 

 

 

Guests started to arrive – it was a casual affair with most wearing sweaters or ……… One man had a ……… ……… – a  temporary tattoo on his arm of the skyline of 34th to 59th Streets in New York. Children that attended were given a toffee or a …..

 

“Did the Monarch speak to you?”

 

“Yes, she wished me a Happy New Year and I said to .. ..”

 

“I got a taxi back and stopped at the ……. – it was a vehicle that sold kebabs and was parked just out side the Palace – however by the time I got home ……. was stone cold so I did not eat it! Instead I just had a  … ………, cocoa powder with warm milk and a dollop of ….. on top”
